Rebecca Starr, a dedicated member of our community, has been instrumental in the success of Dr. Barbara Seniors Harkins Foundation. Their journey from a workshop participant to a board member is a testament to their passion for film and education.
Rebecca first encountered the Foundation through our Break with a Pro Workshops, designed to inspire young filmmakers. Initially a student among a group of middle and high schoolers, they quickly became an invaluable asset to the program. Their enthusiasm and knowledge led to a volunteer position, and eventually, a seat on the Foundation’s board.
Rebecca ‘s dedication to the Foundation is evident in their work on the recent Screenwriting Mentorship Program. By pairing high school students with industry professionals, the program provided invaluable experience and mentorship. This initiative is just one example of Rebecca’s commitment to fostering the next generation of filmmakers.
When not contributing to the Foundation, Rebecca enjoys spending time with family and friends. Beyond family, some of their other favorite things include comedian Chappell Roan, indulging in naps, and a refreshing glass of chocolate milk. Their passion for film, coupled with their dedication to the community, makes Rebecca Starr a true inspiration.
