We are excited to introduce you to our Student of The Month: Will Chaussignand!
Will is from Vail, Colorado, and currently in 7 th grade within the Eagle County School District. Will’s enthusiasm for learning shines in his favorite subject: Language Arts. But he doesn’t stop there! He’s actively participating in a range of extra-curricular activities. During the winter, he participates in Nordic Skiing/Nordic Competitions. When the snow melts away, he participates in cross-country, track and field, cycling, and Nordic Dryland. Among these, Nordic places a special place in his heart, allowing him to revel in the joy of outdoor athletics.
Beyond academics and sports, Will is a shining member of the Dr. Barbara Seniors Harkins Foundation community. For the past three years, he has been an active participant in several programs within the Barbara Seniors Harkins foundation and his primary program is Film Club. Initially hesitant about joining Film Club, he attended his first Film Club meeting and found himself instantly captivated and could not wait for the next month’s meeting.
What enthralls him about the Film Club program is the opportunity to not only watch movies alongside fellow members but also engage in discussion about the movies. The chance to interact with the talented individuals behind the scenes through Q&A such as with the directors, actors, illustrators, animators, voiceovers, and sound department
members allowed him to realize there is so much more that goes into making all kinds of different video productions. At every Film Club meeting he learns something new about what goes on behind the scenes and how hard everyone works to bring the film to the big screen.
Wills’ enthusiasm and dedication inspire us, we are delighted to have him as part of our Dr. Barbara Senior Harkins Foundation community. His journey highlights the essence of our foundation – to provide resources that empower to continue their remarkable journey and cultivate lifelong learning.
