The Foundation would like to extend our deepest gratitude to the talented youth cast members of Abbott Elementary\u2014Lyric King, Jeremiah King, Logan Carter, and Carter Baker\u2014for dedicating their time to speak with our youth during the recent Q&A session. Their willingness to share their experiences, offer invaluable advice, and discuss the realities of working in the entertainment industry was incredibly motivating for our aspiring young actors and filmmakers. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Student of the Month: Isabella \u201cIzzy\u201d Lopez<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

Isabella \u201cIzzy\u201d Lopez is a shining star at Notre Dame High School, where she is deeply involved in media studies, film class, NDTV, film club, and ND at Night. With aspirations of becoming a storyboard artist or writer for comedy animation series like those on Adult Swim or Disney XD, Izzy’s passion for film is undeniable. “The foundation\u2019s film programs helped me to find the aspect of film that I actually wanted to work in by giving me the opportunity to work with and learn from actual industry professionals,” Izzy shares. “I have met many interesting students and mentors during these programs who help motivate me to make more films and work hard towards what I want to pursue.” The Foundation’s influence extends beyond inspiration; it’s been instrumental in Izzy’s journey into animation. A panel featuring professionals in various animation roles opened Izzy’s eyes to the diverse opportunities within the field. “The foundation has given me many opportunities to learn about what the various different aspects of the film world are like\u2026 I feel that I am better equipped to prepare myself to enter the industry,” Izzy explains. Through mentorship, Izzy has honed scriptwriting skills, learning to structure stories effectively and collaborate with other writers. “This has motivated me to work harder so that I will be able to work in writers\u2019 rooms\u2026 to create quality content that people will enjoy to watch.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
